SwissQ UV Printing Technician

Printing in Los Angeles

A Los Angeles printing studio is seeking an experienced operator to run its large-format SwissQprint UV flatbed printer.

To apply, you must have hands-on experience operating a SwissQprint UV flatbed (Kudu, Topi, Impala, Nyala, etc.) and will ideally have experience with Caldera or a similar RIP.

You will own the machine day to day: preparing files, managing rigid, textile, and alternative substrates, and white/varnish file prep workflows. You will own production, and handle routine maintenance, calibration, and linearization and first-line troubleshooting. The focus is on output quality and client experience.

Responsibilities

Machine Care

Perform daily preventative maintenance to keep the machine in spec
Maintain print head and nozzle health, including purge and cleaning discipline
Keep mechanical systems in good working order
Manage calibration, linearization, and color consistency across jobs
Keep accurate maintenance and production logs
Handle first-line troubleshooting and coordinate with SwissQprint-authorized technicians for service beyond in-house scope

Production

Run daily production on the SwissQprint UV flatbed
Prepare files for output as needed, including white and varnish workflows
Print across rigid, textile, and alternative substrates
Hold output quality consistent across a varied job mix

Studio

Manage substrates, inks, and consumables
Support reliable turnaround and a strong client experience

Requirements

Required

Minimum 9–18 months hands-on experience operating a SwissQprint UV flatbed (Kudu, Topi, Impala, Nyala, or similar)
Competence in routine maintenance, calibration, and linearization with SwissQ machines
Strong color management across varied media
Experience with white and varnish / layered workflows

Preferred

Experience with Caldera or a comparable RIP
Experience or interest in commercial and fine art fabrication
Familiarity with finishing, mounting, or fabrication workflows
