Graphic Designer and Assistant Marketing Manager

Taubman Museum of Art

Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2026, the Taubman Museum of Art is an American Alliance of Museums-accredited institution located in the heart of downtown Roanoke, Virginia. The Museum’s landmark facility was designed by internationally recognized architect Randall Stout, who spent more than seven years with Frank Gehry’s Los Angeles practice before establishing his own firm. Inspired by the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and Roanoke’s distinctive landscape, the building has become an architectural icon of the region.

The Museum presents an ambitious program of exhibitions alongside a Permanent Collection of approximately 2,400 works spanning American, modern, and contemporary art. The Taubman originates 10-15 exhibitions annually across 11 galleries and has presented work by artists ranging from Robert Henri, John Singer Sargent, and John Henry Twachtman to Gregory Crewdson, SWOON, and Judy Chicago. Committed to accessibility, the Museum offers free general admission and serves the region through extensive education, outreach, and community programming.

The Taubman is equally fortunate to call Virginia’s Blue Ridge home. Roanoke combines a vibrant arts and cultural community, historic neighborhoods, restaurants and breweries, and a lively downtown with a cost of living that makes it possible to enjoy life beyond work. Outdoor recreation is part of everyday life, with more than 1,000 miles of trails and easy access to the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, rivers, lakes, and mountains. With Amtrak passenger rail and convenient air service, the region offers connectivity alongside something increasingly difficult to find: a deeply committed cultural community and an affordable, highly livable place to build a career and a life.

The Graphic Designer and Assistant Marketing Manager helps build awareness of the Taubman Museum of Art and protects the integrity of its brand across print, digital, environmental, and social media channels. The position creates accessible, audience-centered visual communications and supports the planning, execution, and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns. Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, this role also helps manage the Museum’s social media presence, produces multimedia content, coordinates production schedules and vendors, and supports Museum events.
