We are a busy fine art studio based in Los Angeles. The Artist’s practice centers on large-scale acrylic paintings which require detail-oriented production work.
We are looking for a reliable, technically skilled, and detail-focused Assistant Painter to join our team and help support the production of new works for upcoming exhibitions.
Painting & Production: Assist directly in the creation and execution of paintings following the artist’s direction, established techniques, color palettes, and quality standards.
Material Prep: Prepare canvases, mix custom paints accurately, and maintain color-matching systems.
Reference Translation: Help block in underpaintings, transfer drawings, and execute secondary details based on photographic references.
Art Handling: Be able to safely handle and move large-scale or delicate finished and in-progress artworks.
Studio Maintenance: Keep the workspace, brushes, palettes, and mixing stations clean, organized, and properly stocked on a daily basis.
Operations Support: Occasionally assist the Studio Manager with art supply inventory, packaging for shipments, and studio documentation.
Proven experience working in a professional fine artist’s studio, holding a BFA/MFA in Painting/Fine Arts, or exhibiting an exceptional personal portfolio.
Strong command of acrylic painting mediums, color theory, mixing accuracy, and brushwork precision.
High level of patience, discipline, and the ability to work independently or take direction closely.
Strong communication skills.
A proactive and resourceful attitude.
Reliable transportation to and from the Los Angeles studio location.
