Studio Number One is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial operations. This individual will serve as the primary internal accounting resource, working closely with ownership and management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial discipline, and clear visibility into the business. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and execution-oriented, capable of leading all aspects of the accounting function from accounting operations and financial reporting to planning, analysis.
Own the day-to-day accounting function across multiple entities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across related entities
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and provide insights on business performance and trends
Oversee cash management activities, including monitoring liquidity and supporting budgeting and planning discussions
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records on a cash basis across multiple entities
Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Serve as the primary point of contact for external accountants, tax preparers, auditors, and other financial advisors
Support ownership and management with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, reporting, and operational efficiencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online required
Experience managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and management reporting
Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions preferred
Experience working in a small business, entrepreneurial, or closely held company environment preferred
Experience with Bill.com or similar AP automation tools preferred
Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
Background in the arts, creative, media, consumer products, licensing, or related industries
Experience with royalty accounting, licensing revenue, or inventory-based businesses
Prior experience working directly with founders, owners, or executive leadership teams
